HI has contributed to the WHO report on health equity for people with disabilities 21 December 2022
WHO published a report in early December highlighting the barriers faced by people with disabilities in accessing health information and services. The report proposes 40 measures for overcoming these barriers. As a humanitarian organisation that has been working alongside people with disabilities for 40 years, HI worked closely with WHO on this report.

Get moving after a trauma - interview with a rehabilitation specialist 14 December 2022
Bérangère Gohy works as a Rehabilitation Specialist at HI. She has co-ordinated, in partnership with Médecins Sans Frontières and Karolinska Institutet, a research project aimed to assess and refine a tool to measure mobility independence of people after a trauma.

From 21st to 25th November 2022, HI took part in the 20th Meeting of the States Parties to the Ottawa Treaty, a good opportunity to celebrate the 25th Anniversary of the Treaty and the 30th anniversary of the International Campaign to Ban Landmines.

Fight against anti-personnel landmines continues in the face of growing use 29 November 2022
25 years ago, the adoption of the Ottawa Mine Ban Treaty marked an unprecedented diplomatic victory over these cowardly weapons. The Treaty led to a decline in the number of casualties, the destruction of millions of mines and a virtual end to their use. Since 2014, mine use has made a reappearance in conflicts, with a subsequent increase in the number of casualties. The 25th anniversary of the Ottawa Treaty is an opportunity to urge States to step up their efforts and put a permanent end to the use of landmines.
